New Scanning Capability

The QC Group has added another 3D scanning technology by taking delivery of a Konica Minolta Range 7.  This is the 6th laser scanning capability that QC serves clients with – for parts from microscopic to very large in size.

Our scanning service has always been focused on supporting precision product design and manufacturing.  This new addition serves the medium to large items with scanning accuracy of +/-.0015″.  It allows for many items to be scanned without preparing the part surface with primer or developing powder.  This can be a greate advantage when objects cannot be contaminated.  The Konica Minolta will also increase QC’s portable scanning options when required to capture precsion geometries at the customer’s site.  This is an important consideration, as some objects require higher accuracy results than are possible when using a portable CMM.

Our engineering group with its expert scanning and modeling in SolidWorks and Pro-E continues to grow.  We’re always looking for better ways to serve our clients with the best scanning results possible.  So the Konica Minolta has become an excellent addition to QC’s 3D repertoire.
